The Miss Universe 2015 was held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, United States this Monday, December 21, (Sunday, US time). Miss Philippine Pia Wurtzbach was among the top 3 finalist of Miss Universe 2015 until announced the winner.
After the much-awaited question and answer portion of Miss Universe 2015, the host announced the winner, 2nd runner-up, Miss USA - Olivia Jordan, then followed the announcement of the Miss Universe 2015 winner.
Steve Harvey called Miss Colombia - Ariadna Guiterrez as the winner but suddenly the crowd went into silent after the Miss Universe officials clears the true winner. Then Miss Philippine Pia Wurtzbach is the winner of Miss Universe 2015.
The comedian host immediately asked forgiveness to all who've witnessed the scene.
Pia Wurtzbach answered her questions, "Do you think the US should have a military presence in the Philippines?"
She said, "I think that the US and the Philippines have a good relationship with each other. We’ve been colonized by the Americans and we have their culture. Philippines is very welcoming with the Americans and I don’t see any problem with that at all."
Then on the second question, "Why should you be the next Miss Universe?"
Pia intelligently replied, "To be a Miss Universe is both an honor and a responsibility. If I were to be Miss Universe, I will use my voice to influence the youth and I will raise awareness to certain causes like HIV awareness that is timely and relevant to my country. I want to show the world-the universe, rather-that I am confidently beautiful with a heart."
Miss Universe 2015 was judged by Emmitt Smith, Niecy Nash, Olivia Culpo, and Perez Hilton. And it was hosted by Emmy Award-winning TV personality and comedian Steve Harvey and actress Roselyn Sanchez.
