It's Duterte's sole decision to allow Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani

The so-called issue on the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani has to come to an end. Presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte decision is to allow Marcos at the 'Heroes Cemetery.'

It was a longtime debate for anti and pro Marcos. The incoming president wants to end the issue and when he started working as President he assured that the late dictator will be buried at no time.

Duterte said, "Patay na ang tao, [ano] pa ang gusto niyo? Do you want the cadaver to be burned? Would that satisfy your rage?"

"It is my sole decision. I accept full moral, legal responsibility. I believe it has created division in the country," Duterte added.

Citing the Marcos' children, Duterte said that they must not be made to suffer for their father's actions.

He said, "Look… the sins of the father, if there are any, should never be visited upon the children."

But Duterte clearly says that he allow the burial of Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani not because he is a hero. Duterte said, "not because [Marcos] is a hero…but because he was a Filipino soldier."

The presumptive president was also aware that there will be a protest once Marcos burial in the heroes' cemetery take effect. Duterte earlier said: “Nandyan na yung kuwan, kubrahin niyo" in apparent reference to the reparation for human rights victims.
