But the incoming president was very determined not to attend in the congress for his proclamation today, May 30. Duterte said in his interview when he was asked if there's any reason that could change his mind about the proclamation.

He boldly said, "I am not attending any proclamation. I’ve never attended any proclamation in my life."

Then, Duterte told that he has a lawyer who will be his representative during the proclamation. Duterte said, "May mga abogado ako doon. Makinig na lang sila."

According to PDP-Laban president Senator Koko Pimentel has already told to the reporters that Duterte's presence in his own proclamation is not mandatory.

One of the reason why the incoming president did not attending his proclamation is because he finds the ceremony "corny."

On Tuesday, May 31, Duterte is set to hold a meeting of his incoming Cabinet members. Duterte told media that on that day, he will be announcing new appointees. By then, he said, a "majority" of Cabinet positions will already have appointees.

The presidential seat was won by a landslide with 16.6 million votes.
