The Office of Civil Defense said on Wednesday that the maps/valley fault system atlas was being sold online and taking advantage by some individual. The VFS Atlas was released for free public information and not for profit.
According to OCD spokesperson Mina Marasigan, "We’re able to identify an entity doing this. It’s called OLX, an online shopping portal. Again, the map is not for reproduction and for sale by anyone or group for profit."
They already coordinating local law enforcement agency to investigate the illegal printing and sale of the map.
She added, "We appeal for your help in disseminating information that the maps are not for sale and are actually available online through various websites for free.”
The main reason of creating the West Valley Fault System ATLAS is to shows danger zones of a possible strong earthquake in case the West Valley Fault runs across Metro Manila and other adjacent provinces.
